Program Manager, Urban Development

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Spur investment in and drive high-value, inclusive development in the urban core through existing business growth and expansion as well as attraction of new developments and businesses to the core.  Lead the Urban Core committee to facilitate the implementation of the Urban Core Strategic Plan. Support the development and expansion of multimodal transportation infrastructure within the core.


Starting Wage: $55,000

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    Prepare responses to New-to Market RFI’s and manage that sales process as needed.

2.    Assists with Chamber events as requested.

3.    Performs other duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and related work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years relevant or transferrable experience

 

Other Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in politics and government. 
  • Extensive knowledge of the metropolitan Omaha community. 
  • Extensive knowledge of urban development policy and best practices.
  • Knowledge of the political landscape on the local, state, and federal levels.
  • Knowledge of the mechanism of government at local, state and federal levels. 
  • Extensive need for problem solving skills, organizational skills and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work with limited supervision. 
  • Flexibility in work hours to include early mornings, evenings and weekends. 
  • Flexibility to work in multiple locations, including the Chamber’s Omaha office and the meeting locations of the various councils and committees required by the position. 
  • Ability to provide own transportation.
