About the role
This role sits at the center of daily dispatch. You’ll coordinate a high volume of trucks, build and manage the day’s plan, stay in constant contact with customers, trucking companies, and drivers, and track tonnage and progress so jobs stay on schedule.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate 250+ trucks daily across active jobs
- Support movement of roughly 18,000–25,000 tons of material per day
- Build and manage daily dispatch plans
- Work directly with customers, trucking companies, and drivers
- Track tonnage, truck counts, and job progress throughout the day
- Solve problems in real time and keep jobs on schedule
- Adjust plans for weather, plant issues, wait time, no-shows, and changing customer needs
- Keep clear records so dispatch, field, and billing stay aligned
What success looks like
- Trucks are assigned and rolling with a clear daily plan
- Customers and carriers get timely, accurate updates
- Tonnage and truck counts are tracked and visible
- Problems get handled fast so production doesn’t stall
Requirements
- Experience in dispatch, logistics, aggregate, construction materials, trucking, or a related fast-paced operations role (preferred)
- Strong phone and radio communication; comfortable working with drivers, carriers, and customers under pressure
- Highly organized; able to manage many moving parts at once
- Comfortable tracking numbers (tonnage, truck counts, job status) in spreadsheets or dispatch systems
- Problem-solver who stays calm when the day changes
- Able to work on-site in Dawn, TX during dispatch hours (early starts and busy peak periods are typical)
