Finance Coordinator
About Us:
The Stephen Center is a non-profit 501(c) (3)
organization dedicated to providing shelter services and support programs for
individuals experiencing homelessness in Omaha, NE. We offer a range of
services, including the HERO addiction recovery program and permanent
supportive housing units. Our mission is to uplift and empower those in need,
and we are looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Finance Coordinator to
support our financial operations.
Position
Overview:
The Finance Coordinator will play a crucial
role in maintaining the financial records and assisting with the day-to-day
accounting functions of the Stephen Center. This position will report to the
Director of Finance and will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial
data entry, processing transactions, and supporting the financial reporting
process.
Key
Responsibilities:

Financial
Record-Keeping: Assist with
maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts
receivable, and general ledger entries.
·
Transaction
Processing: Process
invoices, expense reports, and payments. Ensure timely and accurate entry of
financial transactions into the accounting system.

Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and
assist with reconciling other accounts to ensure accuracy.
·
Reporting
Support: Prepare
financial reports and summaries as required. Assist with the preparation of
financial statements and other documentation for audits.
·
Documentation: Maintain organized and accurate records of
financial documents, including receipts, invoices, and contracts.
·
Compliance: Ensure adherence to organizational policies
and procedures, as well as compliance with relevant financial regulations and
standards.
·
Assistance: Provide support to the Director of Finance
with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis as needed. Assist with
grant reporting and tracking.

Customer
Service: Respond to
inquiries from vendors, staff, and other stakeholders regarding financial transactions
and accounts.
Desired
Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or
a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
·
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in
accounting or a related field. Experience in a non-profit setting is a plus.
·
Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and
Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong understanding of accounting
principles and practices.

Attention to
Detail: Excellent
attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record-keeping.
·
Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability
to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
·
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members and respond to inquiries in a
professional manner.
·
Ethics: High level of integrity and professionalism
in handling confidential information.
