Program Manager (REACH)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Project Manager of REACH  is responsible for identifying, engaging, and supporting new and existing firms; including those whose owners’ primary language is Spanish. This role will support Small & Emerging Business (SEB) and Chamber member activity, education and technical assistance for small business.  

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Identify new and existing firms that can be certified in the City’s SEB program. Actively work with the City’s Human Rights & Relations Department to recruit and retain SEB’s in the City’s SEB program.

2.      Be fluent in Spanish & English with the ability to read, write and speak both.

3.      Act as a liaison with the ability to meet and effectively communicate.

4.      Be a self-starter that can manage multiple projects at one time.

5.      Successfully report on the progression of Spanish-speaking firms through Chamber-owned and facilitated programming. Track the number of connections and introductions made on behalf of community firms.

6.      Help facilitate, or partner, on monthly and annual event(s) that support and bring together Spanish-speaking firms.

7.      Perform BRE (Business Retention & Expansion) calls on multiple SEBs and member organizations to determine educational, training, and financial needs.

8.      Demonstrate a high level of competency with a minimal amount of direction.

9.      Be an effective storyteller, well-versed in crafting meaningful introductions.

10.   Demonstrate sound experience with volunteer management and coordination.

11.   Track related entrepreneurship success and metrics for monthly and quarterly reporting.

12.   Work as a seamless organization with other Chamber departments and community strategic partners.

13.   Track and record all prospect activity in the Partnership’s CRM software in a real-time basis following established protocol. Provide activity reports on specific and aggregated client activity.

14.   Respond to general information requests on starting and growing a business in the Greater Omaha area.

15.   Foster relationships with community resources

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.     Attend/work a variety of Chamber events

2.     Provide timely and accurate response/information on a wide variety of issues and questions about the Chamber

3.     Represent the Chamber with professionalism and integrity

4.     Actively participate in diversity, equity and inclusion training in order to advance along one’s own journey of inclusion and acceptance.

5.     Coordinate projects with other departments

6.     Other duties as assigned

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for operating with the budget, with all expenditures requiring approval of VP

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      Experience and competence with a variety of social media tools and platforms

2.      Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task multiple high-priority projects.

3.      Excellent written and verbal skills with ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with all levels of ecosystem including c-suite level individuals within Chamber-member organizations, startup cofounders, community representatives, residents, and funders.

4.      Experience driving and implementing strategic approaches for projects, programs and community work. 

5.      Confidence and willingness to take initiative and responsibility to deliver expected project outcomes.

6.      Ability to quickly learn new software as the need arises. 

7.      Entrepreneurial spirit and drive.

8.     Experience managing volunteers preferred.

Education and related work experience

1.      Experience preferred in the management or operations of an entrepreneurial endeavor, construction business, construction technical assistance provider, volunteer management, non-profit work or a governmental agency. 

Certifications, Licenses, Designations

Valid Driver’s License

1.      Experience in account management, relationship management or customer support preferred

2.      Excellent leadership, sales, communication, relationship, technical and organizational skills

3.      Extremely adept at motivating people; exhibiting solid listening and interpersonal skills

4.      Proficiency with a variety of technology including CRM, presentation and Microsoft software

5.      Social media knowledgeable.

6.      Ability to operate audio visual equipment.

7.      Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects with short deadlines.

8.      Excellent attention to detail.

9.      Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills (written and oral).

10.   Team environment player.

11.   Strong marketing and negotiation skills.

12.   Problem-solver and internally motivated; capable of working with limited supervision

 Starting Pay: $50,000
