Facilities Technician P/T
Stephen
Center has served homeless and low-income individuals in Omaha since
1984 with the mission to partner with the community, families and
individuals to overcome homelessness, addiction and poverty. The
Pettigrew Emergency Shelter and Permanent Supportive Housing offerings
provide safe and secure housing while individuals and families complete
an assessment of permanent housing options. All Stephen Center residents
have access to dual diagnosis support services via the HERO
addiction/recovery program. 100% of Stephen Center shelter supportive
housing participants are living in poverty. Housing transition support
identifies poverty barriers that may impact one’s ability to achieve or
maintain permanent housing through case management, life skills, and
behavioral health services. Stephen Center serves approximately 250
people daily in all programs.
Purpose:
The Facilities
Technician will provide support in maintenance, janitorial, and grounds care to
ensure optimal living standards for the building's residents. Their role
focuses on creating a safe and sanitary environment for all residents.
Key Accountabilities:
- Complete assigned work orders and document
them in MaintainX.
- Ensure all work orders are responded to and
closed within the specified timeframe in MaintainX.
- Conduct preventative maintenance for
infrastructure and equipment as assigned by Director.
- Prepare property and units for inspections,
including move-in, move-out, and state inspections.
- Report major emergencies or incidents to the
Facilities Director and submit Incident Reports immediately.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly cleaning of air
vents and duct vents.
- Clean fire system sprinkler heads quarterly.
- Clean and maintain public spaces as directed
by the Facilities Director.
- Assist in maintaining major site equipment
such as boilers, elevators, snow removal, and landscaping equipment.
- Assist in coordinating and participating in
seasonal maintenance work like landscaping and snow removal.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the
workshop, utility room(s), and mechanical rooms; ensure equipment
efficiency, and stock cleaning supplies and repair parts.
- Maintain necessary maintenance logs within
MaintainX.
- Paint stairwells, hallways, conference rooms,
group spaces, and bathrooms as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Other duties as
assigned by the Agency.
- Potentially will have
on call rotation responsibilities.
Position Requirements:

Good verbal and written communication skills.

with program leadership.

Follow all agency procedures, policies, and requirements.

Project management skills.

Ability to stand for the entire shift.
·
Periodic walking, kneeling, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50
lbs.

Work environment may involve exposure to weather conditions and
moderate noise levels.

clients, regardless of direct interaction.

Salary: $17-$21 per hour
